Software Engineer I

SUMMARY

The Software Engineer I position will provide requirements analysis, extract and import data from a myriad of systems, assist other team members, debug existing code and implement new functionalities.   The ideal candidate will bring experience working in the following roles: Programmer, Help Desk Technician, and QA Analyst.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
  • Perform requirements analysis for existing and new features.
  • Enhance and extend existing system functionalities.
  • Assist with the development of new system functionalities. 
  • Perform data conversions for new installations, importing flat file structures to MS SQL Server 2005. 
  • Troubleshoot, enhance and develop custom interfaces utilizing HL7 and CCR architectures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing software.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networks.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 or a related database system.
  • Experience utilizing a support ticketing system.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills. Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or orally – good phone skills. Ability to work directly with internal and external clients.
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Delphi and .Net development.  

The successful candidate learns quickly, absorbs new information with ease and can comfortably incorporate new technologies into his/her skill set. She/he must have strong analytical talents and problem solving skills in order to anticipate problems; suggest and assess multiple alternative solutions; troubleshoot and debug code.

 

Customer Support / Implementation Specialist

2 years of medical office billing software experience required. Working knowledge of operating systems, Windows, Excel and Power Point. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Some overnight travel is required by car and/or airline. Experience in trouble shooting and application testing preferred.
